2.4.4.3 - His Good Tiding with Paradise

It was from the blessing of this Shaykh that Ibn al-Arabi received a good tiding with Paradise, and that was through a vision he first saw that Shaykh Abu Imran will move to a higher his station, so when he told him al-Mirtuli said to him: You brought a good tiding to me, and I ask Allah that He also bring to you a good tiding with Paradise!

After a short time Shaykh al-Mirtuli received the station that Ibn al-Arabi told him about, and on the day when this happened he entered onto him, so the Shaykh stood up for him and embraced him with the pleasure clear on his face. Then Shaykh Muhyiddin said to him: This is interpretation of my vision that I saw before, and now it remains the answer for your prayer that Allah promises me Paradise! al-Mirtuli replied: This will be, God willing.

The Greatest Shaykh then says that it was not before the end of the month until someone brought to him the good tiding of Paradise, in a vision that we shall mention in the next section, and he saw a clear sign from Allah that certified the claim to the point that is absolute certain without any doubt that he is from the people of Paradise, just as he does not have any doubt at all about the prophecy of Muhammad, peace be upon him. Nevertheless, the Greatest Shaykh says that he does not know whether the fire will touch him at all or not, and he says: With the blessing of Allah, I hope from His generosity that He will not allow this to be.

However, in addition to this, the Greatest Shaykh may Allah be pleased with him says in chapter 463 in the Meccan Revelations, after he mentioned his meeting with the prophets peace be upon them, as mentioned in section 2.3.13 above, that when Moses peace be upon him gave him the science of disclosure and clarification and the science of flipping night and day; so that after that all his time became day without night and the Sun did not rise no set down for him anymore, so he knew from this revelation that he had no share in misery in the Hereafter [Futuhat: IV.77].
