2.4.4.4 - The Sultan Requests Ibn al-Arabi for Prison

Then Shaykh Muhyiddin adds some important details about this tidings of paradise, which was foretold by Shaykh al-Mirtuli. He mentioned all that in the treatise of Visions: al-Mubashirat (RG 485), according to one manuscript preserved in Beyazit library under number 1686, where he says that days after Abu Imran said to him: “It will be, God willing”, he saw in a dream one of his companions who had died, he had with him a long talk in which he told him that he will be from the people of Paradise. However, Shaykh Muhyiddin requested a clear sign to be sure of the reality of this vision, so he asked his companion in the dream: What is the evidence to what your are saying? The companion said to him: Yes, tomorrow at the time of noon prayer, the Sultan will send his soldiers to imprison you, thus you’d better seek a refuge for yourself!

Hence, in the following morning, Shaykh Muhyiddin says that although there was nothing that required the wrath of the Sultan on him, but he says that when he prayed noon the request came from the Sultan, thus he said to himself: the vision is ratified!

This was the good news for him, and he disappeared from the Sultan’s soldiers for fifteen days until that request ceased.
