An argument about the Fihrist’s attribution

Mahmud Ghurab considers attribution of this list to Shaykh Muhyiddin impossible, because important works mentioned by the Master elsewhere do not appear in the Fihrist, while many works named in the Fihrist are not mentioned in his other books. But this argument is incorrect, because the Master himself says that the enumeration is approximate and records what he remembered at that time. The absence of some books can also readily be explained: he may have written them later, or they may belong to the group he was not instructed to disclose, as he clearly states in the Fihrist.
