2.2.21 - His Mother and Her Ansaar Origins
We do not know much about the “earthly” mother of Ibn al-Arabi, because he does not mention her much in his books, but we know that she belonged to an ancient family, as we will see shortly. It is also evident that his father had more than one wife, because his maternal uncle, the brother of his mother, is Yahya Ben Yagan (or: Yougan) was the king of Tlemcen, and he is from the Berbers, while his other maternal uncle, as one of his mother’s ancestors, is the famous Follower Abu Muslim al-Khawlani, who was close to Muawiya Ibn Abi Sufyan.
