2.9.13 - Shaykh Abu Abdullah Muhammad Ibn Guessoum

This Shaykh used also to keep company with Ibn al-Mujahid and studied with him until he died, after which he succeeded him and followed in his footsteps, proceeding even further than his master on the Way. He was a man of both knowledge and action, a Malikite, and a staunch upholder of learning and its excellence. I used to attend upon him and studied with him as much as was necessary concerning ritual purity and prayer. I also heard his own works read.
