2.4.3.3 - The Good Life

Likewise, Shaykh al-Ureybi had a high taste in the meaning of “good life” mentioned in the verse from the Holy Quran: ((Whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer - We will surely cause him to live a good life, and We will surely give them their reward [in the Hereafter] according to the best of what they used to do.)) [Quran: 16:97]. This means, according to Shaykh Muhyiddin, that such people live “good life” despite the pain and hardships they may be going through because they know what they shall finally come to the eternal bliss that God has promised them, so this promise and their knowledge of their eternal happiness will ease the hardships.

In this regard, Shaykh Muhyiddin states in Chapter 487 of the Meccan Revelations that he only met two men in his whole life who had such a high taste of this station, one he met in Mecca and the other was his Shaykh Abu al-Abbas al-Ureybi [Futuhat: IV.123].
